Meet The Teacher

Background Information:
I grew up in Aurora, Indiana from the age of 8 until I went away to college at Purdue University. At Purdue I studied Elementary Education, Special Education, and Educational Technology. While at school I worked as an after school care provider and a summer camp counselor. When I graduated I had a degree in Elementary Education, with a minor in Special Education in Learning Disabilities, and an endorsement in Educational Technology. After graduation, I moved to Indianapolis, Indiana where I worked for several different school districts. My last position was at a wonderful school where I taught 6th grade on a team of three and was responsible for teaching math and language arts. I would have stayed in Indiana had I not met my husband who lived in Portage. I am very happy to now live in Portage and teach 3rd grade at Amberly Elementary.

I completed my Masters in Education with a focus on Integrating Technology. I enjoy using technology in the classroom with my students. I always find it amazing at how quickly they catch on to new applications on the computer. I feel it is truly a blessing to work for such a wonderful school and I enjoy every moment I spend here with these awesome students!
